At the beginning of the season everyone knew that Peyton would not be ready to start the season after having neck surgery during the offseason. But the real shock came when the Owner of the Colt said that Payton would most likely not play in the 2011 season. Now the Colts are sitting at 0-8 on the season and everyone’s focus is now shifting to the possibility of drafting Andrew Luck. The colts have not even been competitive at any point this season, and two weeks ago gave up 62 points on National TV. All of this with no Peyton Manning. It goes without saying, that Payton plays a huge role in his teams success, and it is showing in every aspect of the game. The offense can not move the ball, and that puts all the pressure on the defense, that is on the field for the majority of the game. Taking all of this into account Peyton Manning should win the MVP. Most people would think that statement is completely absurd, but in my eyes Peyton is without a doubt the “Most Valuable Player” to his team. I can not remember the last time an injury had this much of an impact on a team. At the end of the day the Colts are still a professional team; go out and win a game! If not, give Peyton the MVP, because he deserves it.
